This is where I will inform everyone involved of any news/changes, and generally keep you all up to date with this epic task.
Please only post stuff which is relative to the project.
The brief:
Upon all 49 artists being confirmed, a number between 2-49 will be allocated to each person/act, this number will represent your place on the tracklisting. Once this process is complete I will start work on the initial piece. The completed music will then be passed on to artist number 2, who will reconstruct it however he/she decides following the very loose rules of the project. Artist number 2 will pass on his/her reworking to artist number 3, and so on, until all 49 artists have reworked the artist prior to them on the tracklisting.
Please check the group often as this is the main hub of the project, hopefully MySpace will notify you of any changes/new topics upon sign in. Also, you may not see 50 (that's including myself) artists in total in the group members as there are a few people on board who don't use MySpace. Shock, horror!
The 'Rules':
It's a pretty free project, apart from these two guidelines, which must be kept:
1. Sampling
You must use at least one section of sound from the recording you are given to rework, basic remixing...
You can use your discretion at how long/short/prominent you want this sound to be and you can process it as you see fit. Obviously, all other sounds should be unique to you.
It doesn't have to be 'sampled' as such, but more 'source' at least one sound from the recording you're reworking.
2. Track length
Anywhere between a nanosecond and 5 minutes.
Any queries you may have, please use the 'Questions' topic below.
Loving MySpace's targetted ads on here 'Noise Assesment' anyone? hahaha
