Built in the 1980's The Black Abbot in Montrose has developed into one of the Best Supported Local Pubs in the Town!

With Bar, Beer Garden & Function Suite, Summer BBQ's, Live Music, Organised Outings & Various Competitions, etc, etc, it is definitely the place to be!

THE BLACK ABBOT thrives on local traditional pub sports teams having 3 pool teams in the local league with a number of players in the Area Squad and International members too.

There are 3 darts teams - 2 mens and a ladies team with another ladies team on board for next year! The mens team has finished runners up in the league as have the ladies !!!

We have a cribbage team and 2 dominoes teams ready to start in a new league in May.

The Abbot also sponsors 2 local football teams.....
Merpro FC who play in the Dundee and District Amateur League, having left the local welafare league after more than 20 years as the most succesfull team in the leagues history.
Black Abbot FC play in the Local Distict Welfare League when they were formed at the begining of last season. Last year they won the Matrix and Review cups both against Mearns United from Stonehaven. This year they have lifted the League cup beating MCT in the final at Inverbervie, league winners and runners up in the Piggins Cup and Matrix cup to Golf Inn.

The Black Abbot has a Large Main Bar with Big Screen TV showing all Sky Sports.

We have a Function Suite which can be booked for various Parties, etc - We can supply the Buffet & Band/Music on Request - Prices can be discussed whilst arranging this.

The Beer Garden can also be booked for a Function - Great During the Summer Months!
We put on Sunday Summer BBQ's in The Beer Garden with Live Music from 5pm - 9pm/6pm-10pm!
We also have Live Music/Acts on Saturdays and the Occassional Friday.
