For over 100 years the BUAV has been campaigning peacefully to create a world where nobody wants or believes we need to experiment on animals.

Through undercover investigations, political lobbying, the promotion of cruelty free products, legal and scientific expertise and media activities, the BUAV works tirelessly to make the world a better place for animals.

As a not-for-profit organisation we do not receive any government funding or lottery money, relying totally on the generosity of our supporters to fund our work.

We work lawfully and professionally, building relationships with influential people like MPs, MEPs and corporate decision-makers. We also analyse legislation and sit on decision-making panels in the UK, EU and OECD countries, to act as the voice for laboratory animals. We are determined in our fight to achieve lasting change in legislation, to make a tangible and long-term difference for animals.

The BUAV is respected as an authoritative voice on animal testing issues and is frequently called upon by governments, official bodies and major organisations for its advice or expert opinion.
