(How Marijuana can save the U.S.A.)
Consider this an online petition, showing our overwhelming support as a global community for the de-criminalization of Marijuana. We would like to be become the largest group on MySpace, making sure our voices are heard.
What Marijuana & Hemp can do for the US.
The legalization of Marijuana would enhance many existing & diverse areas of our economy, as well as create numerous totally new jobs and products. The legalization of marijuana would also raise millions of dollars in new public revenue and taxes, lowering the tax burden on all and saving taxpayers money by taking the profit out of crime. The long term financial gains are immeasurable, and would be a huge shot in the arm for a dangerously failing American economy. Whether a marijuana user or not, It is now time to make the common sense decision to legalize the use & manufacture of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp.
Who should benefit from marijuana use, the criminals or the taxpaying American citizen? Everybody knows someone who uses marijuana, whether in private or openly, and few would consider their friends and families criminals. The law does.
Please join our group and show your support for the decriminalization and legalization of Marijuana, and a brand new America.

The increase in tax gains would be immeasurable;
Already under the current medical marijuana laws, the participating states gather in millions upon millions of tax dollars. The federal government (who in no way supports Medical Marijuana) takes in 100’s of million, from tax paying medical marijuana dispensaries. The de-criminalization of marijuana would create hundreds, upon hundreds, of millions of dollars in tax money to help fund our country.
The actual sales of the legalized marijuana & related products;
Those familiar with the Reganomics concept of a trickle down economy, the more a company makes, the more an employee makes, creating spending, boosting the overall economy. This includes all related products; advertising, retail, & support products. This also creates huge increases in the sales tax gain.
The increase in jobs;
Farming;
The manufacture of marijuana, would revitalize the American farmer. Farmers will be licensed to cultivate cannabis for both medicinal and adult private use. Many farms sit in bankruptcy, needing a new and desired crop. This also increases to need for farmable real estate, increasing land values, showing the far reach of legalization.
Hemp;
Farmers will also be able to grow industrial hemp for paper, fabric, protein and oil/fuels. These are currently imported products, with no American ties. Industrial Hemp is the most productive agricultural source of fiber protein and oil, and a huge aspect of American heritage. Hemp seed oil is used to make diesel fuel alternatives. Hemp is significantly more efficient than wood pulp in the production of paper. Bring Hemp back to the US.
Retail Sales;
Smoking devices, new brands of clothing, & marijuana associated products would enhance an existing retail market, current marketed legally as “tobacco smoking” & novelty products.
Manufacturing & Support Materials jobs;
Like any farming crop, the need for fertilizers, machinery, and growing products increases with the crops success. Include the revamping of cigarette companies production lines to make prepackaged marijuana cigarettes. All of these result in significant increase in jobs and sales in many diverse areas of the American economy.
Social Impacts;
Legalization of marijuana will remove the black market, where children, substance abusers, and criminals, who access is all to easy, and place it in a controlled environment, where the age limit of 21 and older is strictly enforced (making this a similar and alternative product to tobacco and alcohol). This assures the products will be produced under controlled and safe conditions, also making the product safer for the end user.
By removing the criminal element, this allows police and the courts to concentrate on real criminals that hurt others, not arrest, prosecute and jail harmless, productive adult cannabis users. The police and legal system would have a new budget, redirecting millions of dollars into national security and community safety.
The release of existing non-violent drug offenders under a supervised parole process would help to relieve prison overcrowding, and keep dangerous criminals in longer. This is a large financial savings to every state. This also helps to preserve the family unit, keeping parents out of jail, and raising their families.
