OCTOBER and NOVEMBER

Rosheil and her marine, Phong.

location:Camp Pendleton

age: Nineteen

interests: Getting my life started so we can have a family early-- Nursing this fall!

fave quote: "We owe it to ourselves to recognize our milestones, to commemorate them, and to use them as an opportunity to reflect on and further our personal growth." - J.V.

a lil story about you and your man...maybe include something about how you met:
About Us: My name is Rosheil and I am 19, a 2007 high school graduate, and a 2008 Associates in Arts and Science graduate majoring in Nursing, and hopefully mastering in that field as well. My husband, Phong, is a 19 year old LCpl, graduated high school in 2005 at the age of 15, has 3 years of college below his belt, speaks 5 different languages, joined the Corps at the age of 17, and has been stationed at Camp Pendleton for the past 2 1/2 years. And yes, he is a lifer.

Our Story: My husband and I met in July 2007 back home in Tacoma, Washington. From the minute he greeted me and offered his hand out to introduce himself, I was hooked, and hesitated to let go. Looking his best in his blues, he told me the corniest pick up line: "You know what’s missing from my uniform? A beautiful girl that I can escort around." I fell for it. Though he was on assistant recruiting duty, ironically, his family lived only 3 blocks away. I admit that our relationship was on fast forward; he told me he loved me on our third day together-- though I pretended not to hear him and thought I was hallucinating :)
My dream, then, was to join the Navy nurse corps to either become an officer or reservist, mainly be able to pay for my college tuition. After he left back to Camp Pendleton, he asked me not to join the military, and that he would take care of me instead.. a few seconds later.. I knew what was coming, and I scolded him not to say it on the phone ("will you marry me") just because it wasn’t as personal as I’d imagine my fairy tale prince to ask for my hand in marriage. Instead, he showed me his true intentions by gathering information for Marine wives, where to get married, pros and cons of marrying before deployment, etc. Two months after we met, we were married in San Diego county and have been wonderfully happy ever since and I could not imagine my life without him. I am truly blessed to have found my soulmate in the crowd, even when he has been living only a walk away from me all these years. Forget prince charming, I have a Marine instead. He is my love, my bestfriend, my soulmate, my everything. He’s my knight and shining flak jacket.

Ever wonder what time it is where your marine is? click on the country he's in and this will tell you what time it is!

AND REMEMBER GIRLS...THIS GROUP FOCUSES ON OPSEC.
