KWSS 106.7 FM is an LPFM radio station based in the northeast Phoenix-Scottsdale area. Low Power Frequency Modulation is the technical term for our type of station which means we are a non-profit serving the public interest. Similar to Public Radio KWSS airs little to no commercial spots. We welcome sponsors and donations from private and public entities to help us continue to bring a unique non-corporate format to you the listener. KWSS operates with a group of volunteers that have a passion for radio and music with a background in the industry. KWSS constantly brings the spotlight to local fundraisers, awareness organizations, and other worthy non-profit events in the valley. One of our other goals is to air local and independent music every hour. Unlike large radio stations looking to role out a format across the country we have come up with a unique blend of mainstream, eclectic, and independent music that compliment each other. This means if you are an independent band you can get airplay right here for free, no lining the pocket of some label or media conglomerate. A portion of our top 25 music at any given time include bands generally unknown to other broadcasters, and rival in style, quality and creativity to the massive record label artists.
