The Festival will kick off in Montrose Town Hall on Friday evening with a concert by funk and soul legends the Average White Band, with main support by Glasgow’s own alt-funk-rockers Brown Eye Superfly, and Dundee alternative rock band The Floor.
Saturday will begin with a "Something for All" extravaganza, at the piazza area of the high street, featuring various performing arts groups, buskers, street entertainers, a Hog Roast and much more.
The rest of Saturday will feature live music in the form of a hosted traditional session starting at 12:30pm followed closely by over 30 free entry gigs, held in 15 separate venues throughout the town.
With a wide range of genres, from Rock to Jazz, Folk to Latin, Blues to Bluegrass, Acoustic, Roots and much more, there will be something to suit all tastes.
Sunday continues with a bluegrass / gospel session followed closely by over 20 free entry gigs throughout the official venues.
It wouldn’t be a festival without the traditional survivors night open mic session throughout Sunday evening in one of the official venues. Free buffet provided, along with much music and craic.
