The first thing I noticed about the cover of NOT EVEN IF YOU BEGGED was that the cover model was full-figured like the lead character, Traci Evans, in the book. I literally pumped my fist. There is nothing wrong with being a healthy, full-figured woman. You can strut your stuff with the best of them and match intelligence with anyone. You rock! But unfortunately, some narrow-minded people see your voluptuous body and lose brain cells.
Then there is Maureen Gilmore, an attractive 59 year-old widow who misses intimacy. She's attracted to a younger man and is considering going out with him until the unthinkable - she starts having hot flashes. She sees her personal summers as another strike against them and she's keeping a list.
I thought about these women a great deal as I wrote NOT EVEN IF YOU BEGGED. I admired their courage in the face of adversity, the way they stood shoulder to shoulder, the way they told each other the truth even when the other one didn't want to listen. True friends.
When I typed the last word, I kept thinking about women and life. The choices - good and bad - we make. I wanted a forum where we could share our thought. But how? Then, crystal clear it came to me: This I Know. So, I invite you to stop by and leave your comment on four subjects during four time periods.
