Sora is the original keyblade master and was originally out to seal the doors to the heart of worlds, but other than that, the most important thing to him, was to find Kairi, who was missing after their worlds were destroyed. When he found her however, he learned that Kairi’s heart had been protecting him, and they had always been together. In the end though, Kairi was seperated from Sora..
After closing the Kingdom Hearts door, Sora’s mission was not done. He still has to find Kairi, and also, he has to track down King Mickey, as well as find Riku, who had been with Riku after the doors closed. The journey begins, again.
In Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora’s outfit is like the one in Kingdom Hearts, except, it’s all black! Sora’s age in Kingdom Hearts 2 is 15 years.
Kairi grew up on Destiny Islands but she is originally from Hallow Bastion, and lived with her grandmother before she went to Destiny Islands. On the night of the storm and the invasion of the heartless, Kairi’s heart was taken. In Hollow Bastion, Sora found Kairi laying on the floor and Ansem told Sora that Kairi is one of the seven princesses of heart, and without her, the door to the darkness will not open. In a very touching moment, Sora got out Sora’s heart, while Sora becomes a heartless, but Kairi still protects him in front of the castle.
Q: What is Kairi’s Homeland?
Kairi’s homeland was Radiant Garden. Where she originally came, then to Destiny Islands but the problem is that who are her parents?
Riku, who was the true keyblade master, lost his body over to Ansem after joining with him. Riku was than powerless, as he was being controlled by Ansem. In Kingdom Hearts, you face Riku twice as he is controlled by Ansem. Riku abandoned the body and wound up on the edge of the world of darkness, and was led by an unseen force.
In Sora’s last battle (the one where you defeat Ansem), Riku is able to cross over to the "other side", as when after Ansem was defeated, the door had to be shut and Riku stepped forward and helped close it shutting himself onto the other side along with King Mickey.
In Kingdom Hearts,
King Mickey starts out as very mysterious as he suddently leaves his kingdom in search for the cause of the recent destruction of worlds. Along his voyage he stopped at many worlds including Ansem’s. This can be found in Ansem Report 9, where it says:
Simply astonishing! Today I had a guest from another world. He is a king, and his vessel is built of the material that composed the meteors. He called the pieces "gummi blocks." It seemed that my opening the door has opened a path to interworld travel.
We talked for countless hours, but one story in particular caught my interest: that of a key called the "Keyblade." The Keyblade is said to hold phenomenal power. One legend says its wielder saved the world, while another says that he wrought chaos and ruin upon it. I must know what this Keyblade is. A key opens doors. It must be connected to the door I have opened.
Donald is court magician who protects Disney Castle and its inhabitants. Once the King left to find the reason for the stars going out, he instructed him and Goofy to find Leon and learn about the ‘key’. They didn’t find Leon, but found his accomplish, Aerith, in Traverse Town. They learned about the key, but needed to find it, or rather they needed to find Sora. They eventually bumped into the kid when they were literally thrown into a battle with a gigantic heartless. After some wacky introductions, they took off in their Gummi Ship to find Sora’s friends and the King.
Goofy is Captain of the royal knights who helps protect Disney Castle and the people. When King Mickey journeyed out for answers about the stars going out, he left with Donald to find the ‘key’ as instructed. They began to find answers about the ‘key’ when they arrived in Traverse Town and meet Aerith. Once finding out about the key blade they bumped into Sora, it’s wielder. After Goofy and Donald brightened up Sora, they traveled throughout different worlds to find answers.
The youngest and newest member of the Organization,
Roxas, the "Key of Destiny", was "born" when Sora briefly became a Heartless. However, due to a combination of Sora’s short time as a Heartless and Kairi’s heart serving in his creation, Roxas had no memory of being Sora. He wields the Oblivion and Oathkeeper Keyblades, and controls the power of light and the Samurai Nobodies. His name is an anagram of Sora with an x added.
Roxas’ first appearance was in the Special Secret Movie "Another side, Another story..." that is unlockable if the player accomplishes certain tasks in Kingdom Hearts; he was the first Organization member to be revealed. He later appeared in an additional video, "Another Side, Another Story [deep dive]", for Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. When pre-release screenshots and video showed this character without an Organization cloak, he was featured prominently, emphasizing his importance to the future game’s plot.
Axel’s role and motives are fully revealed in Kingdom Hearts II and revolve around Roxas, whom Axel sees as a dear friend. He attempts to personally bring Roxas back into the Organization by force, knowing that if Roxas was to find and meet face to face with Sora, the two would fuse to complete Sora; and Roxas, as the individual Axel knew, would no longer exist. Afterwards, when Axel fails to stop Roxas from joining Sora, Axel turns his back on the Organization to further his own plans. Outside of Organization orders, he kidnaps Kairi with intent on using her to bring Sora to him, but Sax stole her away from him so that the Organization to use her to fuel Sora’s anger. During the second visit of Twilight Town, Sax warns Sora that Axel will stop at nothing to turn him into a Heartless, as Axel’s reason for his betrayal was only to see Roxas again. Axel reappears after the Heartless invasion of Hollow Bastion in front of Sora, and informs Sora that Organization XIII is manipulating him the whole time, apologizing for getting Kairi involved, before he promptly escapes when Saix appears.
Axel, whose feelings for Roxas live on, now focused on Sora, finds the young hero in a pathway to the World That Never Was and chooses to fight with him rather than against him. When he and Sora are attacked by a large group of hundreds of Nobodies, he performs a kamikaze attack and sacrifices himself to save Sora. With the last of his strength, Axel opens a corridor of darkness to the World That Never Was, all while asking Sora to rescue Kairi and commenting how Sora, like Roxas, made Axel feel like a whole person.
Namine and Roxas appear to be of a similar nature, not quite supposed to exist, yet still existing because of someone else. While Roxas is the Nobody of Sora, she is actually a "special Nobody" born from Kairi’s heart when it left Sora’s body. However as Kairi had no darkness in her heart, Sora’s body and soul were used in Namine’s creation. As a result of this, she had none of Kairi’s memories. Because of this, DiZ states that Namine’s birth was special and her powers could only affect the memories of Sora and those whose hearts are connected to his, which was why she was used by the Organization. DiZ had her protect Sora in his deep sleep while restoring Sora’s "pre-Chain of Memories" memories, which affected Roxas.
Despite DiZ’s orders, Namine visits Roxas in Twilight Town. She appears to him several times, often before he is attacked by Nobodies, acting somewhat as a guide to him. It is Namine who tells Roxas of his true nature as a Nobody. When he is told that he will disappear, Namine quickly answers that "[he’ll] be whole". As DiZ takes her away, she tells him that they will meet again, even if they do not recognize each other.
She is not seen again until near the end of the game. She frees Kairi and Pluto from imprisonment and they attempt to escape from the Organization’s stronghold. They encounter Saix, but, fortunately, are saved by Riku (in the guise of Xehanort’s Heartless).
Namine then gives up her own existence as an independent entity and fuses with Kairi to complete her. However, it is said in her and Roxas’s conversation that they will not fade, but rather be whole, thus proving that not all Nobodies are destined to fade into darkness. In the ending, we see Roxas and Namine one more time, smiling through their counterparts at each other when they return to the Islands, complete.
